Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport is an international commercial airport, originally established as a military airfield in 1945. It is the largest airport in Sakhalin Oblast. The Airport has one passenger terminal with range of shops, restaurants and other passenger amenities typical of an airport of its size. In addition to the passenger terminal, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport has two cargo terminals providing services for both scheduled and chartered cargo flights. The concrete runway is capable of accommodating aircraft sizes up to a Boeing 777 (or similar).
