Private jet charter and flights to Tonga

A Polynesian archipelago of 171 tropical islands in the idyllic South Pacific, Tonga is a paradise of white-sand beaches, teeming coral reefs and lush rainforest. Experience it all: request a private jet charter quote from Air Charter Service.

Tonga is divided into four main areas: Tongatapu in the south, Ha’apei in the centre, Vava’u further north, and the far-flung Niuas. Most visitors fly into the low-lying main island of Tongatapu, where the airport and capital city are located, before working their way up through the rest of the archipelago.

With its crystal-clear lagoons and towering limestone cliffs, Tongatapu’s western coast is scattered with relaxing beach resorts, while the spectacular Mapu’a Vaca Blowholes are a dramatic phenomenon that stretches for 5km along the island’s rugged southern shore. Capital city Nuku'alofa sits in the north, where the king resides in the seafront Royal Palace and a bustling local market sells tropical produce and authentic arts and crafts. Eastern Tongatapu is home to Tonga’s most fascinating archaeological sites: the ancient capital of Mu’a, where the centuries-old Royal Tombs enshrine former monarchs in a series of stone vaults, and the mysterious Haʻamonga ʻa Maui, a six-metre-tall trilithon made from huge coral slabs thought to date back to the 13th Century.

Ha’apai’s central scattering of islands, atolls, reefs and shoals offer an idyllic retreat for those wanting to explore further off the beaten track. In this virtual utopia you’ll quickly adjust to the laidback pace of life known as ‘Tonga time’ – leisurely days are spent horse-riding along sandy beaches lapped by emerald waters; snorkelling or diving among brightly-coloured marine life; and whale-watching in the sparkling sea, before retiring to your boutique eco-lodge for a dose of the locals’ low-key hospitality.

Swim with humpback whales and their babies in the waters of the northern Vava’u Islands, which provide a safe-haven for these majestic beasts. Endless hidden coves and atolls also make this region a world-renowned yachting playground. Scuba divers can discover an underwater paradise of pristine coral gardens and historic shipwrecks, while thrill-seekers will enjoy a range of watersports including jet-kayaking and kite-boarding. Back on terra firma, explore the archipelago’s only botanical garden or dine in one of bustling city Neiafu’s fantastic restaurants before watching the sun set over a cocktail.

The isolated Niuas are a far-flung cluster of three volcanic islands in Tonga’s very northernmost reaches. This remote and unspoilt pocket of civilisation offers visitors a true taste of the South Pacific – the welcoming locals still live in traditional thatched huts and uphold authentic Tongan traditions in their everyday lives. The islands provide endless outdoor adventure, with extinct volcanoes to climb, trails to cycle and gleaming white beaches to walk along.

Tonga is served by Fuaʻamotu International Airport, located on the south side of main island Tongatapu. Simply contact our team and we’ll arrange everything you need to charter a private jet to Tonga.
