DESTINATION GUIDE
Norfolk Island Airport
This airport, which is sometimes called Norfolk Island International Airport, is an island airport which is located on Northfolk Island, an external territory of Australia. The airport originally opened as a defensive base during the World War Two. The airport serves both passengers and cargo aircraft. The airport has two runways and a small passenger terminal, which features a number of basic facilities including a café. Adjacent to the terminal building is a small cargo terminal for processing cargo aircraft which use the airport. While Norfolk Island Airport is relatively small, it can handle aircraft up to a Boeing 737 or similar in size. Private jets are welcome at this airport, but the airport should be contacted directly to arrange landing slots.
